Don’t hang up your skis and boards yet! After receiving over 2 feet of snow since Vail Mountain’s official closing day, the decision has been made to extend its season for one more weekend, reopening Friday 19th– Sunday 21st.
“This is a great way to end our 50th anniversary season,” said Chris Jarnot, senior vice president and COO at Vail Mountain. “This is an opportunity for our season pass holders and skiers from around the region to take advantage of a few extra days, and enjoy more of the spring skiing we all love here in Colorado.”
Come celebrate Vail’s 50th Anniversary by skiing spring powder for one more weekend. See you on the slopes!

As the pace of sales continues, our inventory levels have dropped to over five year lows. April of 2013 actually saw the lowest level since June of 2006 at 1,173 (residential and land only). Supply is limited and in some areas potential buyers are not able to find properties based on their criteria. As demand outpaces supply in these neighborhoods, we expect to see prices move upward slightly.
The segments of the market we are watching closely are properties priced over $3 million. The number of sales has slowed this quarter to 7 as compared to 19 in 2012. This may be an opportunity for buyers in this range to find the home they are looking to purchase.
Sales for properties under $1 million have been on a solid pace since last year and continuing this quarter with 167. Homes priced properly in this range in most neighborhoods are not on the market long and some areas have seen multiple offers.
As markets improve throughout the country, we expect confidence in our area to drive real estate sales.
